Rookie Republic is honored to have Brittany Hutt on board as a blogger! She is a native Philadelphian and is currently approaching her tenth anniversary as a New York City resident. She continually falls in love with NYC for the wealth of opportunities it offers. She loves people and culture, challenge and innovation.
She’s an avid traveler and believes that her greatest knowledge comes from seeing and experience the world. As with her personal life, she only surrounds herself with people and work that she respects and values. Over the last 10 years she has had the immense pleasure of meeting some of the most inspiring people, companies and ideas through her entrepreneurial work in digital marketing, real estate and hospitality. She has always had a love for entrepreneurship and is very excited to be part of the Rookie Republic family!
What do you do?
In 2008 I launched SocialSurge Interactive, a digital marketing agency where I consult with a wide range of clients in a variety of industries. I thrive on innovation and the growing opportunities new media offers to build brand communities.
Previous to my work in digital marketing, I founded Soho&Tribeca Lofts, a luxury loft rental company in downtown Manhattan. In a down market I took advantage of the vast real estate opportunities and flipped large loft spaces to use for events, photo-shoots and vacation stays.
What makes you a Rookie?
I am constantly learning, evolving and taking on new adventures!
What will you be blogging about?
People, ideas, inspirations, adventures.
Why is Rookie Republic Important?
Rookie Republic is important because it connects likeminded people who come together and share positive energy. It doesn’t matter what stage of your life or career you are at you can always benefit from meeting new people and learning from one another.
What is your ambition for the next 5 years?
To continue to grow and enrich my life with new experiences that help me evolve into a better person, create bigger and better ideas and allow me to both gain and share my knowledge with others.
What is the best advice you can give a Rookie?
Never take yourself too seriously. If you do you will never be open to taking risks, and making mistakes – all part of the learning process. A true Rookie will always know that they are a Rookie and with that mentality they will continue to learn and grow and create new ideas!
